ASME SA213 T22 Alloy Steel Seamless Tube

Also referred to as 2 1/4 Chrome 1 Moly, the T22 Tube Material is covered by specification ASTM A213. This low alloyed T22 Tube Composition also contains additions of elements such as chromium, molybdenum and sometimes vanadium in order to improve its mechanical properties such as hardness and good resistance to creep. This alloy belongs to the ferritic steel category can be used in applications involving oil patch wellhead. Usually, this steel SA213 T22 Tube is available in a hardened, quenched as well as a tempered condition. Since the ASTM A213 Gr T22 has very good weldability, these tubes can be readily welded to either itself or it could be weld inlayed.

Another benefit of using the ASTM A213 T22 Tube is that this particular alloy grade does require a post weld heat treatment, and hence can be used to meet sour service requirements. The good weldability of the T22 Tubing grade means that the alloy can be frequently used in those applications where welding is deemed as a primary requirement, such as for weld clad or inlaid components. Per the ASTM specification, the SA213 T22 Boiler Tube is to be first reheated, following which the tube is to be supplied after being furnished. The furnishing of SA213 T22 Tube can be done in either a full annealed condition, isothermal annealed condition or normalised quenched and tempered condition.
