Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe

Carbon steels are a group of alloys that contain element carbon up to about 2.1% by weight. In addition to carbon, these steel grades may also contain other elements in trace contents. Generally, the level of alloying carbon with other materials would classify the category any Carbon Steel Pipe would fall into. For instance, Low carbon steel contains carbon in 0.05 to 0.25% of its weight and the carbon content in medium steel ranges anywhere between 0.3 to 0.6%, while high carbon steels have about 0.60 to 1.00% carbon. And lastly, Carbon Steel Seamless Pipe belonging to the ultra high category have a carbon content of approx 1.25 to 2.0%.

As the content of carbon increases, in the alloy of Sch 40 Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe, they tend to become much harder and stronger on performing a heat treatment. However, with the increase in strength and hardness, carbon steels become less ductile. Nevertheless, the electrical and thermal conductivity are properties of the Carbon Steel Welded Pipe which are hardly affected even after being heat treated.
