The alloy C22 Tube is also comparatively insensitive to velocity effects and is widely used for critical components such as bubble caps or valves in contact with flowing acid. Hastelloy C22 Pipe retains its excellent ductility and toughness at low temperature.

ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy C22 Tube Pressure and Temperature Ratings
The allowable temperature range for ASTM B622/B626 Hastelloy C22 Tube may be contracted at its lower end by the hydroscopic nature of the chloride of the metal concerned; for example, iron should not be used at a temperature less than 54°F (30°C) above the HCl-H2O dew point, while copper may be used as long as the temperature is 9°F (5°C) above the dew point. In view of the hydroscopic nature of nickel chloride, it would be prudent to assume that hydrochloric acid might condense on a nickel surface at a temperature as much above the dew point as in the case of iron, i.e. 54°F (30°C).
